Charming thatched holiday home with a lovely courtyard in the heart of Nordby on Samsø
House-ID: 20160
Welcome inside
Step inside an older and charming holiday home, built in 1777, filled with character and history. Here, you will stay in one of Nordby's distinctive thatched-roof houses, where the atmosphere reflects the many years and stories the home has witnessed. The interior is simple and functional, making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate authenticity over modern luxury.
The kitchen and living area provide the setting for peaceful holiday moments, whether you begin the day with a cup of coffee around the table or end it with good conversation after a day full of experiences on the island. The home's two bedrooms offer space for a family or a group of friends, and throughout the house you will find the special cosy atmosphere that only an older home can provide.
Enjoy life outside
Right in the middle of Nordby, you’ll find this little oasis where both young and old can enjoy the best of town life and outdoor living together. The outdoor areas around the house offer plenty of privacy, even though the home is centrally located in Nordby. There is also parking available at the house. The entire garden is fenced, making it ideal if you’re bringing your dog along.
On the west-facing side of the house, there is a fence that creates a private terrace area with direct access from the kitchen. The tiled terrace offers plenty of space for garden furniture and a barbecue.
Get up close to the local attractions
Nordby is the northernmost village on Samsø and has been named one of the best-preserved villages in Europe. It’s easy to understand why, as simply wandering through Nordby’s small, winding streets around the village pond is an experience in itself.
In addition to its charming village atmosphere, Nordby offers several restaurants, local shops, and Samsø’s only brewery within easy reach. On the northern part of the island, you can also shop for dinner ingredients at roadside stalls offering fresh vegetables. From Nordby, you are close to unique protected nature in Nordby Bakker, with Issehoved and Ballebjerg being particularly special places to visit.
Just 2 kilometres from Nordby lies the small village of Mårup, where you’ll find grocery shopping options, and nearby you can visit the beautifully located marina at Mårup Harbour.
Southern Samsø naturally also offers a wealth of experiences and beautiful beaches. In the many villages on the southern part of the island, you’ll find specialty shops, galleries, and restaurants. It’s easy to explore the island by bike, allowing you to discover the different towns and nature at your own pace.
