House-ID: FJ1016
Come on in.
You’ll step into the house’s large communal area – the living room, kitchen and dining area – with a high ceiling and access to the two children’s bedrooms on the first floor. There’s a TV for watching DVD films or playing games in one of the bedrooms.
In the living room, you’ll find a lovely corner sofa, perfect for relaxing on with a good book or perhaps a film on the telly, or gathering round the dining table for a good board game.
From the large communal living area, there is access to a bedroom with a separate toilet – on the opposite side, by the small hallway, you’ll find the second bedroom, as well as access to a bathroom with a spa bath; there is also a utility room with a combined washing machine and tumble dryer.
From the living room, there is direct access to the lovely terrace and the beautiful enclosed garden.
Welcome outside.
Here you’ll find the lovely enclosed garden – complete with a sandpit, swings and a slide, much to the delight of the little ones – and you can enjoy a cosy evening by the garden fire, perhaps with some bread on a stick.
The large lawn offers plenty of space for various games for the whole family; there are games and bikes in the shed which are free to use, or you can relax on the terrace with a good book and a cup of coffee.
Exploring the local area.
Kulhuse is situated between Roskilde and the Isefjords at the tip of the Hornsherred peninsula. Here you can enjoy the countryside and the area’s lovely, child-friendly beaches right by the marina. The holiday home at Kulhuse is situated in a scenic area, with Nordskoven as its neighbour – here you’ll find signposted cycling and walking routes that can take you, amongst other things, to the ancient oak trees with over 1,500 years of history: Storkeegen, Snoegen and Kongeegen, which are Northern Europe’s oldest oak trees. Visit Jægerspris Castle – and the ice-cream shops in the middle of the high street, where Poulsens Is dates back to 1913.
In the area around Kulhuse, there are several walking and cycling routes. You can take the Columbus ferry from Kulhuse to Sølager and, amongst other things, explore Arresø, Denmark’s largest lake, or head to Hundested with its cosy restaurants by the harbour as well as various art and specialist shops.
Get a taste of the local area by stopping off at the many farm shops and specialist shops found in North Zealand. Several restaurants also focus on local and organic produce. You’ll easily find plenty of delicacies to take back to your holiday home.
The nearest major towns:

Roskilde (Denmark’s former capital), approx. 43 km
Copenhagen (Denmark’s capital), approx. 59 km.
Once you’ve experienced the holiday atmosphere in Kulhuse and the surrounding area, you’ll know exactly where to spend your next holiday.
