Welcome inside

Beyond that, you’ll find a lovely, cosily furnished living room with panoramic windows, an open-plan kitchen and dining area, from where you can enjoy the fantastic large garden and views of Roskilde Fjord. From the living room, there’s direct access to the cottage’s lovely terrace. The cottage is ideal for family holidays.

Enjoy life outdoors.

Enjoy the lovely terrace, where you can take in the view, sit and relax with a cup of coffee and a good book – later, enjoy a delicious meal prepared on the barbecue or perhaps a dip in the spa bath; after your meal, it’s time to savour the tranquillity and watch the stunning sunsets. The garden offers plenty of space for games and play, or sit by the fire pit and cosy up to the crackling fire whilst enjoying the evening as it draws in.

Enjoy the surroundings

Kulhuse is a charming holiday home area where you can go for lovely walks in Nordskoven or in the holiday home area itself, which has good paths for both cycling and walking.

In the area around Kulhuse, you can, for example, follow the Fjordlandsstien trail and go for a cycle ride through the countryside or along the fjord, pop into the nearest towns – Jægerspris or Frederikssund – or take a dip in the waves at Kulhuse sandy beach. You can also take the Columbus ferry from Kulhuse to Sølager and explore Arresø, Denmark’s largest lake. There are cycling and walking routes around the lake, or you can head to Hundested, where there’s a wide selection of restaurants and shops.

Get a taste of the local area by stopping off at the many farm shops and specialist shops found in North Zealand. Several restaurants also focus on local and organic produce. You’ll easily find plenty of delicacies to take back to your holiday home.

From Kulhuse, you can quickly reach Jægerspris and Jægerspris Castle. In Nordskoven near Jægerspris stand Denmark’s three oldest oak trees: Storkeegen, Snoegen and Kongeegen. Only Kongeegen remains, and it is estimated to be between 1,500 and 2,000 years old. This makes it the oldest oak tree in Northern Europe.
